Case study video: Burnage Academy for Boys

Pupils at Burnage Academy for Boys running their class meeting, from the case study film

We’re really pleased to launch our second case study video!

It’s from Burnage Academy for Boys in Manchester, a fantastic school that we visited in February. We’d been following their progress closely and had been impressed with a consistent use of the class meetings, and an active Communication Team on Twitter demonstrating their Action Team activity.

So we were delighted when they agreed to let us come and film, and are really happy with the results.

We loved their commitment to involving every student and how self-managing their Communication Team was. A real example to other secondaries, and a pleasure to have worked with them.

Many thanks to all the students and staff at Burnage for having us in the school, in particular Becci Wadeson who helped to make the day go smoothly - thanks Becci!

Finally, if you’re a member school and interested in a case study like this, please get in touch!

Nothing to plan. The pupils run it.

Ready-made topics, a short meeting each class runs itself as often as suits you, and every child's view in one place rather than the same few voices. Have a look round an anonymised school, no sign-up.
