Empowering Young Voices: The Latest from Our Electoral Commission Project
We’re really excited to share an update on our partnership project with The Electoral Commission.
Since January, we've been working closely with St Vincent’s School, bringing lively debates on democracy to SEN schools across England. The project has been buzzing with activity and positive energy around voting, and we’re happy with the progress so far.
At St Vincent’s, we've created five engaging debate videos that have sparked inspiring discussions among pupils about the electoral process and democracy. The students have shown incredible enthusiasm, gaining confidence and new insights along the way.
Examples of the debates we’re looking at include:
Should schools and community groups do more to help young people to register to vote?
Are people not taking part in elections because they don’t feel like they are being heard by politicians?
Here are some lovely snaps from our visit:

The school also happily shared more snaps about the students getting ready for the North West Young Debaters Competition:
We’re proud to have worked with the amazing pupils at St. Vincent’s School, and the progress we’ve made so far.
Members, keep an eye on your dashboards—upcoming debate sessions led by pupils are on their way, and we can’t wait to see the positive change they inspire in your schools!
We’re thrilled to be empowering young voices and helping build a generation that understands the power of democracy. For more details and to see the impact in action, be sure to check out our blog for latest updates.
