Big Questions, Real Action: Celebrating Earth Day with Let’s Go Zero

This Earth Day, we’re proud to be partnering with Let’s Go Zero, a national campaign helping schools take real climate action—one step at a time.

Led by Ashden Climate Solutions, Let’s Go Zero is supporting hundreds of schools across the UK to set zero carbon targets and take practical steps to get there. From energy-saving measures to greening school meals, the campaign is all about empowering schools to reduce their environmental impact in ways that are ambitious, achievable, and tailored to their setting.

To celebrate the partnership, this week’s debate video asked: Which is more important—reducing carbon emissions now or preparing for climate impacts in the future? It’s a great way to spark climate conversations and hear what young people have to say about how climate change will affect their future.

To our members, remember that you can take part in this special Earth Day debate by heading to your dashboard.

Here’s a climate tip from Let’s Go Zero you can try right away:

💡 Did you know that switching just one red meat meal per week to a plant-based alternative could cut the same emissions as taking 16 million cars off the road? Small changes in the school canteen can lead to big wins for the planet—and for pupil health too.

We’re so excited to keep the conversation going and spotlight how students can help lead the way to a greener future.

Schools can also explore Let’s Go Zero’s brilliant Green Canteen programme or take part in national campaigns like Walk to School Week and Switch Off Fortnight.

Let’s work together to give pupils a voice—and a greener future!
